PS Comment. What’s going on? You lot have lost your spunk, your zest for a rant. Have we won? Have you accepted the inevitable concept of a good old fashioned trouncing? Or have you been stuck in the dole queue and are having a sit down?
a few of mps having a trip to brighton and scores of cops from four forces (btp, sussex, hants and mps) managing to save edo this time doesn't add up to a 'good old fashioned trouncing'.
did you see the bit where your colleagues tried to 'bubble' the protestors by the park, only to fail dismally? it took fatty discombe and his cohorts quite some time to track them down!
not to mention laughing boy's unseemly shyness! i know you don't mind your picture being taken, pc comment. but some of your colleagues don't share your backbone.
Whilst I agree with PS Comment that the forces of good did indeed triumph over the unwashed minority - boy did they make it hard work! Who on earth was in charge? That has to have been some of the worst strategic Public Order command seen in the last decade - I suppose that it's not a co-incidence that this doesn’t happen in London
As the demonstration passed the B&Q on Lewes Road a group of builders who were congregated at the burger van in the store's car park started shouting abuse at the protesters.
"Get a job, you lazy soap-dodgers!", and other such comments were aimed towards us.
Several prrotesters (mainly female) then approached the builders to begin to try and explain what the demonstration was about.
Moments later baton wielding cops attacked them.
The builders were visibly shaken and disturbed by the behaviour of the police.
Shouts of "Oi, leave 'em alone, they aint done nothing wrong!", and "Go catch some real criminals!" were heard emanating from the same builders who had been verbally abusing the 'great unwashed' only moments earlier.
I couldn't help but chuckle at this police incompetence. Talk about how to alienate yourself!

Thanks for that Ana, I heard the abuse towards us, but not towards the coppers afterwards. (Too busy nursing the bruises I think). Thing is, a lot of people who may not agree with the demonstration don't agree with police bullying either.
Ah come on. These are lovely bunch of people. They are just guys with video cameras who choose to wear blue that morning. What harm can it do? I thought this blog was about watching horny chicks.
Fit Watch are a fluid group of people who have come together to resist and oppose the tactics of the Forward Intelligence Teams (cops who harass protesters).
We aim to act in solidarity with each other, supporting campaigns by being at meetings and protests, making it harder for the police to film and gather intelligence.
We hope to encourage a culture where their presence is not acceptable and to act when we see people being followed and harassed.
We aim to make it harder for them to photograph and intimidate us by getting in the way of their cameras, taking photos and publishing as much information as we can about them on our blog.
Please add info as a comment or send to defycops(at)yahoo.co.uk
Some Ideas For Fitwatching
FIT Watch can be done by anyone and can be as passive or as confrontational as you wish. Here are some tactics we have found to be effective:
1.Holding large banners in front of photographers. This is particularly effective with double sheets on sticks which can block a camera from a distance. This is the least confrontational way of blocking photography.
2.Taking photos of them. They really don’t like this but it isn’t illegal. With any photos it’s always good to either try and get the cop’s number in the shot, or note it down.
3.Following the FIT. Pick a team and tail them. Turn their tactics onto them – everything time they send a text message look over their shoulder, listen to their phone conversations, look at what they’re writing in their notebooks.
4.Watch out for group huddles, especially with senior officers and go and unobtrusively stand by them. This disrupts their briefings and there’s always the possibility you might learn some useful information.
6.Put yourself physically in the way of the camera men by standing constantly in front of the camera and constantly shadow them. This has been the most confrontational tactic used so far and has therefore been the one people have been arrested for. However it has also been possible to do this without arrest, especially if there are larger numbers doings this.
