it's interesting to note that the head of neighbourhood policing in hammersmith and fulham is keen runner elaine van-orden, former head of the met's specialist training centre in gravesend. i wouldn't be surprised if this was duplicated in other places, as snt's are not the sort of fluffy policing they're often presented as, but the sort of policing which would very much use the sort of tactics more commonly associated with the fit.
