Police Pay protest march

Load of pics here but they're unsorted at the moment. Soon as I get time I'll extract all the FIT-specific ones, tag them with appropriate numbers, and post another link to the collection.

As ever, fitwatchers can use whatever ones they want.

Thanks to Class War and Fitwatch who gave us such great entertainment on the march. I hope they were able to see all the support from the public, sadly something that never happens on anarchist/activists marches. I hope you all noted how dignified the march was. Sometimes a quiet dignified march say’s a whole lot more! Hope you learnt something. I’m sure someone will come back with the usual rubbish that spurts from the mouths of activists, but hey we all know the truth.
Don’t forget the more money we are paid the more tax we pay and therefore more Dole you can claim! A Win Win situation!!

anonymous, you are wrong. Next time you are repressing, I mean facilitating an anti-war march for example, if you look behind you you'll see the public supporting the marchers too. Oh, and by the way, I and many others work, paying taxes which in effect pay your wages. It is you my friend, who is scrounging from the taxpayer!

Cheers to fotdmike for the photos. It'll be interesting to see if we have any new faces for our collection.

I have been reading loads of comments.I am a copper, I am uniformed and I can say that when we police demos such as 'Stop the war' 'Animal Rights' 'Op Harwood' Etc there is always a stereotype of crazy leftie that acts like a tit. I love engaging in conversation and confrontation with them, we(police) always win, get fed, get overtime but above all expand our minds. You fisters just shout"Assault,You cant do that,Get his number " My point is this.....Never mind the coppers with blue on thier Hi vis let them crack on.......But always look over your shoulder for us lot that wear flat hats, rarely wear hi vis and are all expert card players. Shalom!

Ah, if only the police reserved their harassment and data gathering just for 'the leftie who acts like a tit'. But that isn't the case - it appears that even the hoards who marched on the 2 million strong anti-Iraq war march had their facial features deliberately captured on CCTV. Burmese protestors taking part in soldarity protests had their photographs taken and stored, as the police photographer told us, for 'monitoring purposes'. Hardly 'leftie tits' really are they? I know that 'pc'd love to make us out to be extremist freaks, but the reality is that an awful lot of people are concerned about police surveillance. This is a campaign that can only grow. Get used to it Mr Copper.

I know for a fact that you are not, never will be extremists freaks... freaks yes. What, in your view would be extreme?....Then if you ever had the 'Common dog' to do it then chances are we have you at some stage on camera etc. Prime example, I nicked a lady who superglued her hands to the windows of BAA. She had no sense of humor when I said," You have got yourself into a sticky situation here!" Any way she gave us some pony name and guess what. I found out her real name and the fact she was wanted for not shaving her underarms! A vile offence I am sure you will agree. Now be nice and respond with a funny police story!

sorry but reading these comments from the police is just like reading a bullys diary or something. mocking people of thier views and what they see best to make a stand. unlike the coppers who stand in thier paid 'gangs'. the people on demos are there because they want to be and because they believe in what they are demonstrating. unlike you lot who are paid to be there and are not even taking into consideration peoples opinions, but then again your not paid to do that are you? Mabey thats another reason why you want the extra cash, becuase your fragile minds can not except the view of others who use thier own eniciative to stand for what they think is right for others.End of the day, your ''march'' was highly policed to benefit yourself (more police) unlike other protests where the police are there just to target people and nick them as soon as a voice is raised or a cigarette is flicked. Your thinking of your own. not the public.

I agree that there are more nobel causes to demonstrate about then your own pay packet, but the police do the work that others won't.
If your limited view of the police is based on "they were mean to me at the G8/climate camp" then you're lucky. Because than means you weren't the one I sat with for 22 hours dealing with a brutal stranger rape victim not to mention her partner (devastated) and her kids (traumatised). That is real police work and no, I don't expect you to appreciate that as your viws in life may be a little insular.
And before you label the police as savages perhaps you need to police yourselves... theres more than one or two of you who like to get in a couple of cheap digs in when you think you can't be seen.
Don't lose sight of the real reason you are protesting, the police are just a side line.

Exactly, they do like thier cheap digs. But they dont like it up 'em Mr Mannering

It's interesting that PC complains about doing their job, nobody forces you to do the job and yet they have the right to barb their comments on here just to complain about us. Get another job like the rest of us. Speaking of which why not leave the police force altogether if you don't like the pay. I wish I had your cushy pay, nice pensions not to mention free train tickets.

I have made up the pay by doing a few -5's. and the pension which you are refering to.....Guess what dumb ass...I pay into it each month. So I will only get back what I put in. Oh and yes we get free rail travel and we are obliged to take positive action in dangerous situations etc etc. "Fire up the Quattro!"

PS I am the comment PC, like V in V for Vendetta but more switched on!
